Grant Barrette joined The Little Nell in November 2010 as General Manager at Ajax Tavern, overseeing all restaurant operations for the hotel’s popular ski-in/ski-out restaurant at the base of Aspen Mountain. Grant majored in Public Health Administration at Indiana University, then moved to Breckenridge, Colo., where he began working in Food & Beverage. He expanded his culinary education through coursework at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and earned his Level 1 and II sommelier certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Grant’s experience working in banquets and kitchens, paired with his expanded education, led him to The St. Regis Aspen, initially as Catering and Conference Services Manager, and two years later as the Director of Catering and Conference Services. He then became Director of Food & Beverage at The Sky Hotel, followed by The Roaring Fork Club before joining The Nell where he was now serves as F&B Director. Grant notes the reasons he was drawn to The Nell include the hotel’s passion for guest service and the outstanding wine program. He loves meeting and talking to new people – both guests and staff - and sharing his love for the mountains and outdoors with them. Grant resides in Carbondale with his wife and their daughter.
