Rachael Liggett-Draper moved to Aspen in 2021, becoming the first female on The Little Nell’s team of sommeliers. Over the years, she found her true passion in the hospitality side of business. Taking care of guests and creating memorable experiences have been “the ultimate highlight” of her profession. She began her career in the restaurant industry at an upscale bowling alley with elevated wine offerings such as grower champagnes and Petrus. Instantly discovering her intrigue for wine, she was determined to learn as much as possible. She was frequently found reading at the host stand or studying in the wine cellar. After her Introductory Sommelier exam, her fascination only grew more. Following the accomplishment of her Advanced Certification, she knew she wanted to work for a restaurant with a reputable wine program to help her pursue further achievements. When she is not studying wine, she is exploring the outdoors on her bike, encompassing the lifestyle “eat, sleep, wine, bike, repeat.” In addition to not wanting to leave beautiful Colorado, she established herself at The Little Nell Hotel.
