Sommelier, Jesse Libby

Jesse Libby joined The Little Nell’s sommelier team in June 2017, following a three-year stint as a server at Element 47. Jesse initially studied medicine, and shifted his focus to hospitality due to his desire to travel the world and live a transient lifestyle. Jesse refined his serving skills while working at Prime 112 in Miami, considered one of the busiest restaurants in the country. After a stint in Boston, Jesse worked at the Boarding House in Nantucket, which was his first job working alongside sommeliers. As he began to learn more about wine, Jesse realized it appealed to the scientific part of his brain and decided to pursue a career as a sommelier. Because of Nantucket’s short season, Jesse desired to move to a destination where he could work in wine year-round and enjoy outdoor activities. He was familiar with The Little Nell’s award-winning wine program and wine education classes, and moved to Aspen in 2013 to work as a server at element 47. He earned his Level 1 and Level 2 exams during his first two years working at The Nell, and is taking his Advanced Exam in November 2019.
