Paul Rose was born and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where he first stepped into the kitchen at a young age and uncovered an industry that he "not only enjoyed, but is good at." Paul studied at Johnson & Wales, earning a degree in Culinary Arts and minors in Psychology and Leadership Studies. While in school, he worked at the luxury coastal hotel Chatham Bars Inn, where he trained interns and discovered his second passion, teaching. During his internship in Beaver Creek, Colorado, he fell in love with the mountains and decided to return to Colorado after graduation. While he moved back to Colorado to spend a season snowboarding and working, summertime ultimately made him stay due to the abundance of outdoor activities. He joined the culinary team at the Viceroy Snowmass, worked his way up to Sous Chef, and began teaching ProStart, a high school culinary arts class through the Carbondale-based non-profit, YouthEntity. He knew that his career path would eventually lead him back to teaching and was inspired to aid in the start-up of the non-profit, BarZero. Paul briefly returned to his hometown and worked as the Sous-Chef at N'or East Beer Garden, and then returned to Chatham Bars Inn as Junior Sous Chef. The allure of the mountains brought him to Aspen in 2022 to work at The Little Nell as Chef de Cuisine at Element 47. Paul now enjoys creativity of collaborating with his team on new dishes and cooking techniques.
