RIDE & DINE dinner SERIES
We invite all cyclists to join us for our Ride & Dine Dinner Series, embarking on a journey from The Little Nell by bike to arrive at the scenic destination of Toklat in the Ashcroft Valley for an al fresco dinner. Before departing from the hotel, you'll select wines for dinner from our 20,000-bottle cellar with Wine Director Carlton McCoy, Master Sommelier. From The Little Nell to Toklat, the route climbs 13 miles alongside breathtaking meadows and ranches. Upon arrival, you'll be treated to a farm dinner prepared by our element 47 chefs, featuring fresh ingredients from local and regional purveyors.
2018 dates are forthcoming – one to be offered per month in June, July and August.
The Catto Center at Toklat was once the family home of one of ACES’ most influential founders, Stuart Mace, and holds great meaning for the Aspen community.Toklat, an Inuit word meaning “headwaters,” was built by Stuart and his wife Isabel in 1948 as a wilderness lodge and family home. The early dog sledding trips, the pristine sub-alpine environment, and tall tales told around the hearth in the evening drew both locals and visitors from all over the world. In 2004, with the help of long-time ACES supporters Jessica Hobby Catto and her husband Henry, ACES bought Toklat to preserve Stuart’s legacy and this community touchstone. Toklat is located near the headwaters of Castle Creek in a dramatic landscape and serves as a gathering place for cultural and ecological discourse.
