off-road TOURS

Delete whatever is on your camera’s memory card, because our 2-, 4- and 6-hour off-road tours provide endless photographic opportunities. To say these tours are awash in splendid scenery would hardly do justice to an otherwise indescribable adventure. Trips may follow Aspen Mountain’s Summer Road up, up and away until reaching the 11,212 foot summit. Here you’ll look down on the town of Aspen, across the Maroon Bells wilderness and out to the Continental Divide. Depending on the tour, you may also traverse butterfly-inducing ridge lines, along the shore of crystal blue lakes. All tours offer snacks or boxed lunch selections from our premier restaurant, element 47. Come one, come all, as Summer Adventures with The Little Nell are open to the public.

Off-Road Tour Options:

2-Hour Sunset: Take Castle Creek Road and ascend the backside of Aspen Mountain up Little Annie’s Road. Arrive at the top of Aspen Mountain just in time to see the sun setting over the Elk Mountain Range as you enjoy snacks. Guests will then descend down the face of Aspen Mountain, overlooking the town aglow during the twilight hours.

2-Hour Daytime: Take Castle Creek Road to an old mining road to reach the backside of Aspen Mountain, where you’ll see some of the tallest peaks in Colorado. The vehicle will stop at the top of Aspen Mountain for you to enjoy snacks and take photos. Then, descend down the face of the mountain, overlooking town.

4-hour Daytime: Take Castle Creek Road to Express Creek Road, where you’ll pass by several gorgeous high mountain lakes. Settle in at Taylor Lake, where you’ll enjoy an array of snacks. Then, venture to the top of Aspen Mountain and descend down the face of the mountain.

6-hour Daytime: Consult with one of our Adventure Concierge to design your customized 6-hour off road tour in the Elk Mountain Range. This trip includes a box lunch.
