Assistant Manager, Taylor David
was raised around the country from West Virginia to North Carolina to California to Washington State where she lived from sixth grade through high school. After graduating, Taylor moved to New York to study at the Culinary Institute of America, earning her Bachelor’s degree in 2013, with a focus on wine. That same year, she also achieved her Introductory Sommelier Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Having always dreamt of living in Colorado one day, she set forth on a mission after college to find the best restaurants in the state with respected wine programs.
In her search, she discovered The Little Nell, which looked like the right fit to pursue wine studies and work in hospitality. Here first job at The Nell was at element 47 as an AM Front Server, which led to Restaurant Supervisor. She did such a great job in management, she was asked to work as a Restaurant Supervisor at Ajax Tavern. In 2015, she was promoted to Assistant Restaurant Manager. Taylor loves Ajax’s foundation as a French bistro, which complements her passion for French wine perfectly and as Assistant Restaurant Manager, she gets to work directly with wine representatives to choose selections for Ajax’s curated list, as well as help with inventory. “Another huge aspect of my job is managing the hostess stand and getting all the staff trained to handle our volume of guests.” She loves the laid back, easy-going atmosphere there, especially in the spring when apres-ski takes over the entire patio. When Taylor’s not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, skiing in the winter, hiking and biking in the summer.
