Grant Barrette studied Public Health Administration at Indiana University, and moved to Breckenridge, CO fresh out of college, where he got his start working in food and beverage. Grant expanded his culinary education through coursework at Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, and earned his Level I and II Sommelier Certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers. His experience working in banquets and kitchens, paired with his expanded education, brought him to Aspen to work at The St. Regis Aspen as Catering and Conference Services Manager, and two years later as the Director of Catering and Conference Services. Grant has been a resident of the Roaring Fork Valley for 15 years, previously serving as Director of Food and Beverage at The Sky Hotel, and most recently, at The Roaring Fork Club. Grant joined The Little Nell team in 2010, and says he was drawn to The Nell because of its passion for guest service and outstanding wine program. He says it's the people, both the ones he works with and guests, that have kept him here. He loves meeting and talking to new people and sharing his love for the mountains and outdoors with them. Grant resides in Carbondale with his wife, daughter, two dogs and a cat, and enjoys spending time outdoors, from growing his vegetable garden, to rafting, camping and fishing.
