HALF-DAY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS:Getting to Know Your Camera | 8 am - 12 pm or 12 - 4 pm | $1,000 per person
This class is for anyone who would like to learn the basics or more advanced technical functions of their digital camera. Finally learn what all those buttons on your camera are for, which ones you can ignore and which ones will assist you in creating striking images.iPhone Photography | 8 am - 12 pm or 12 - 4 pm | $1,000 per person
You can take more than selfies – learn to take high quality and creative photos on your iPhone. This workshop will teach you tips and apps that will turn your iPhone pictures into art.
FULL-DAY ADVENTURE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS:
Full day photography workshops are broken into two sessions. The morning session will be a hands-on, on-location photography session. After a break, the afternoon session will be devoted to a digital darkroom session. Working in Lightroom or a similar photo-editing program, you will work with Andrea to review the images shot and transform them into printable artwork. Based on the weather and lighting conditions, we will choose between four scenic locations to capture stunning vistas of Aspen and the surrounding mountains and valleys.Maroon Bells Adventure | 5 am - 1 pm | $1,300 per personRise with the roosters and spend an exhilarating morning capturing first light on the peaks of the majestic Maroon Bells. Sip hot cocoa or coffee while waiting for the sun to rise on the Bells.
Hunter Creek Adventure Workshop | 8 am - 4 pm | $1,300 per person
Hike along Hunter Creek River through beautiful Aspen groves to arrive at the glacial valley floor of Hunter Creek. We’ll photograph historic miners’ cabins, meadows, Aspen groves and magnificent views of the Elk Mountain Range.Independence Pass Workshop | 8 am - 4 pm | $1,300 per person
Enjoy a spectacular day in the high country photographing wildflowers, lakes and views of the Continental Divide. Based on hiking ability, we will either hike to Linkins Lake or to the ridge of the Upper Lost Man Trail.Ashcroft Adventure Workshop | 8 am - 4 pm | $1,300 per person
Early morning photography session at the historic town of Ashcroft followed by a streamside stroll to the Pinecreek Cook house for lunch.
WHAT TO BRING:
Clothing: Moisture-wicking clothes with layers and hiking shoes
Camera Equipment: Camera with lenses, extra battery, flash memory card, tripod, camera manual (if available).
Andrea will loan her tripod, flash memory cards, or other required equipment, if necessary.
Andrea Booher, photojournalist and film producer, has worked on every continent, from United Nations assignments in India and Africa, FEMA disaster response in the United States to teaching CEO photography workshops in Myanmar, Australia and Antarctica. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, The Atlantic Monthly, TIME, Newsweek, LIFE, Travel and Leisure, Traveler, GEO, Outside, Sports Illustrated for Women, Smithsonian, Stern, and the World Press. In addition to her documentary work, Booher's travel photography is represented by Getty Images. In the immediate aftermath of the World Trade Center attack, she was one of two photographers allowed unlimited access to document at Ground Zero. She has been personally profiled on A&E, The History Channel, CNN, Camera Arts, NPR and Photo District News. Her work resides in the National Archives and Smithsonian and is in permanent exhibits worldwide.
