THE LITTLE NELL RECEIVES 2014 BEST OVERSEAS SKI PROPERTY IN AUSTRALIA'S LUXURY TRAVEL MAGAZINE'S GOLD LIST AWARDS

Aspen, Colo. (April 18, 2014) – The Little Nell , Aspen’s only five-star, five-diamond property, recently took top honours – for the second year in a row – as Best Overseas Ski Property in Australia's Luxury Travel Magazine's Gold List Awards. This prestigious award asks readers of the magazine to vote for their favourite luxury travel experience in 34 major categories. The award was accepted by Leigh Maloney, The Little Nell’s Australian Public Relations representative, at a cocktail party event on April 11 at Sydney's 1888 Hotel.

“We are thrilled to receive this Gold List Award and honoured this ranking is given by the readers themselves of Luxury Travel Magazine,” says Simon Chen, General Manager, The Little Nell. “As a fellow Australian, I believe this distinction speaks volumes to our outstanding service and our ability to create life-long memories for our guests, like no other ski destination in the world.”

Recent News and Background on The Little Nell

Since being granted this same Luxury Travel Magazine Gold List award in 2013, The Little Nell has also had some exciting news. Simon Chen was named General Manager in the summer of 2013, coming to the property from Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Chen brings a significant 14 years of hospitality experience to The Little Nell.

Bryan Moscatello returned to the property as executive chef in the fall of 2013. Moscatello served in the position from 1992-2000 and has since worked at a variety of acclaimed restaurants around the country. Moscatello was most recently the chef partner at Storefront Company in Chicago, IL.

Also, Carlton McCoy was named as the wine director after earning his Master Sommelier diploma in May 2013. By becoming a Master Sommelier, and at just 29-years-old, McCoy joined an elite group of 135 wine professionals who have achieved the highest distinction afforded in the wine industry in North America, only 214 worldwide. With the addition of McCoy, The Little Nell's wine program has achieved the remarkable feat of graduating 10 Master Sommeliers over the years, the most of any establishment in North America.
