The Little Nell and Daniel Johnnes, wine director for Daniel Boulud's Dinex Group and producer of La Paulée de New York, will host a return engagement of one of the most intimate and exclusive epicurean events of the season: La Paulée des Neiges.
Pairing some of Burgundy’s most sought-after winemakers with celebrated chefs, La Paulée des Neiges is an homage to La Paulée de Meursault, the traditional Burgundian fête shared by wine growers and their guests in celebration of the harvest.
THE FESTIVITIES will begin on Wednesday, January 16, with an extremely intimate, all-magnum dinner at Chef César Ramirez’s three-Michelin star restaurant, Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare in New York City. Twelve guests will experience an unforgettable evening, setting the tone for the weekend to follow in Aspen. Tickets to the Brooklyn Fare en Magnum dinner are $3,000 per person.
The events will continue on Friday, January 18, in Aspen, Colorado. The Collectors Dinner will be the highlight of La Paulée des Neiges and will be held at Element 47, The Little Nell’s newly remodeled and renamed restaurant. Chefs Daniel Boulud and Robert McCormick will prepare an intimate, multi-course feast designed to complement rare wines sourced directly from the winemakers' private cellars. $2,000 per person.
Saturday, January 19, will begin with exhilarating morning of skiing followed by La Paulée’s flagship event: The La Paulée Lunch with winemakers at the private Aspen Mountain Club, normally open only to members and their guests. Special menus created by Daniel Boulud and Robert McCormick will be paired with older vintage wines from each attending Domaine. In the spirit of La Paulée, guests are encouraged to bring wines from their personal cellars to be shared along with those of the winemakers. (Non-skiers may ride the Silver Queen Gondola up to lunch, and everyone is invited to ride down.) $750 per person; lift tickets are not included.
WINEMAKERS will include Dominique Lafon of Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Etienne Grivot of Domaine Jean Grivot, Jean-Pierre de Smet of Domaine de L'Arlot, Christophe Roumier of Domaine Georges Roumier, Pierre Meurgey of Maison Champy, and Alain Graillot from Crozes-Hermitage.
CHEFS Daniel Boulud and Robert McCormick of The Little Nell will collaborate on the creation of two elaborate dining experiences in Aspen. Robert McCormick worked with Daniel Boulud for five years as his corporate sous chef and now is at the helm of culinary operations for The Little Nell. The two are reuniting for this special occasion.
